Reunion Recap Thursday night's impromptu gathering at the Palm was a great success, and people who didn't come the rest of the weekend came out. Although the turnout for the CHS tour and the homecoming game was not as good ad we had hoped, everyone who attended had fun even thought the Tornadoes got their butts beat by Lakewood. The Welcoming Reception at the hotel got underway at 8:00 p.m., and there were approximately 80 people in attendance. Jim's I-Pod music from the '60s was perfect, and the snacks delicious. The crazy people who stayed at the bar until after 3:00 a.m. realized the next morning that they were not as young as they used to be. Saturday morning found the Tiger Woods' and Phil Nicholson's of our class out on the links. From all reports, a great time was had by all, with Bill Glass taking home the trophy. Saturday night started with a cocktail hour followed by a buffet dinner, that by all accounts was plentiful and delicious. Lynne Edelman Famaile and Allen Weatherilt spoke of the significance of the year 1968 and Jim Drain and Patty Day Perkey brought attendees up-to-date on the status of the CHS Class of 1968 Scholarship Fund. Speaking of which, the 50/50, run by Judy Drain Dowd, raised approximately $225 for the scholarship fund, while the silent auction, which Beverly Lester Mays coordinated, raised almost $1,600. And, we collected over $2,100 in donations from reunion participants. Great new for our scholarship fund. However, please don't let that keep you from donating. We still need to "beef up" our account to get it where it's self-sustaining. Please visit our Scholarship page, where you can easily make donations to the scholarship fund using either a credit card or PayPal. We'll get photos posted as soon as possible, so be sure to check back. Now, all of you attendees, please take a minute to complete the survey below. This will help the committee know what we can do to improve your reunion experience. Lost and Found We found a black Denali camera case with a 2 gb memory card and a USB cable inside. The case has a blue and gold pin with a diagram of a church on it. If it's yours, let us know. 40th Reunion Survey Contact Us Please feel free to contact any of the reunion committee members personally. Linda Burr - 727.797.4171 |
